Well, had some time to fish yesterday from 7:00 AM till about 1 PM. So I hit Sandy Hook and fished the tip for Fluke.
Well, it was a little slow going to start with the decent NW wind. I took it slow and worked the ocean beach for a little while waiting out the wind change. Around 10, the wind changed and I was able to the fish the nice rip at the tip of da hook . It was very weird being on the beach and casting into 12-17 feet of water, but this was the edge of SH channel, so I made sense of it. I had all of my action at this spot. Unfotunately, most of the Fluke were 14-15 inchers, with one being close at 17". I lost quite a few fish too(one for sure that was keeper too), either from hooking them in the hard part of their mouth or missing their quick strike. I ended up with 11 fish. Gulp Nuke Chicken 5" was the poison.
Back at it tomorrow for the flat ones. This time closer to home base... and with pictures this time..
