Maybe someone else more in the know will chime in here but not sure they are very active right now.... I believe they were formed back when the Fluke Fishery was on the verge of being shut down a few years back so for a very specific period of time and purpose.

Thanks to the generosity of many (including many on this site), the SSFFF has been able to continue to work on improving the science behind Summer Flounder assessments. SSFFF had representation at the last benchmark stock assessment and is continuing to work towards an improved sex-structured model as recommended by the peer reviewers after the last assessment. Expect to hear more about ongoing efforts this summer.

And no, the SSFFF has not merged with anyone, it remains autonomous in its charge to improve the science.
