5/15 bass and blues

Started out in the early fog looking for bait in the Navesink to load up for Saturday Hi-Mar tournament. No bait to be found from red bank to the oceanic bridge except 10 pound bluefish trashing my cast net. Ran to the bay to do some last minute recon and trolled 3 bass in 1 hour around 10-17 pounds. Picked up and went in search for the bass candy again and found the mother load thanks to some networking. Bait blowing up all over by blues in 10 feet of water. Couldnt ask for a better senario. Drifted some chunks and livies back in the fleet area and got 1 more bass on a head and a couple more blues....final was 4 for 6 on bass up to 18 pounds and countless blues. Took some for the freezer for Shark season. Will be out early saturday for the tournament and will post another report.
