Default Russian Roulette cod trip 05/10/2014

Set sail today with Cpt.Denis to the cod grounds. Weather was iffy but decided to give it a shot. Good group of guys : Cpt.Lou,Cuz ,Penny,John,Max(Cod virgin, second time on the boat) and yours truly.Got to the grounds ,dropped the lines down and it looked slow but then all hell broke loose . First couple of fish caught 25bers then one after another keeper cod in 10-15lb range .Stayed on the wreck for about 4hours then decided to start heading inshore .The weather warning came on. Captain decided to stop on another wreck on the way home and we put some more in the box.All had a great time .Lots of laughs and ball breaking .Pictures tell the rest of the story.Thank you Denis for another great day of fishing.

Two good week-ends in a row for me with cod on the Russian Roulette, Point Pleasant, N.J. The seas were a lot tougher this Saturday but the boat handled the 5' roll really well. And I only had to drive 50 minutes one way to the boat. Thank you Capt. Denis and his mate Andrew (AKA: BANG BANG) for another good time with productive fishing.

I broiled the fresh cod tonight. Outstanding taste. Even my wife who doesn't eat a lot of fish raved about it. No worms in them which is rare. I guess the cod are just starting to build up in New Jersey waters.

Cant beat the baccalla - especially fresh - people who dont like fish will love the fresh cod

Wish I could get out but will be a couch fisherman till July

Great seeing these reports -

Great catching guys
