Default Oregon Inlet

Anyone have info on Outer Banks fishing in late August? Taking a family vacation and staying in Corolla. Hatteras is a bit far, but I was thinking of hopping on either a head boat or taking a charter. Seems like the offshore fishing is iffy in August and I'd rather get some table fare than chase billfish. I also read that there has been a short recreational red snapper season the last couple years that has fallen the week we'll be down there. Was also gonna try surf fishing at night for shark. Really could care less about bluefish, flounder (fluke) and croakers. Would consider backbay fishing for reds though. Any info would be great.

Maybe not what your looking for, but for a family outing give some of the local piers a try.

I fished that inlet a few times with great results. They will put you on the tuna /mahie for sure.I was solo and went the inlet..they have a nice tackle shop where you also make reservations. I left them a deposit and whithin 24 hours they called me to let me know boat and what time..
We left the dock and were on the tuna very soon.I fished with people I did not know but it went well..we caught a lottsa tuna..they also have a fish cleaning business..it was pricy but they did a great job...think I paid 250 for boat 100 to clean fish...I had well over 100 lbs myself...nuttin like fresh tuna..
The whole fleet seems to work together...best tuna fishing ever for me!
If you are in that area it is a must...unforgettable fishing.

I tile fished out of Oregon once I think it was June though. The boat was Country girl. $99 for the day trip out 30 miles. Had a great day filled my string plus gave away a bunch. Good Luck
