My first ever PASSAIC PIKE!!!!!!

Was heading to visit my girlfriend in Garfield this morning so I thought I'd give it a shot on the Passaic first and let her sleep in a bit more. And boy was I glad I did! Conditions seemed great, nice cloud cover, some wind but not too much! Scouted around a new section I never looked at before and found a spot by a little island, it looked pikey! Got a medium sized smallie in the first 15 minutes on my husky jerk, then 10 minutes later BAMM! PIKE ON! Felt like a friggen log, almost didn't believe it was a fish until I saw it a few moments later. YES!!!!!!! FINALLY! I met the skunk every time I went to the passaic before today and it was getting frustrating! Got him in and was pleased to see it was of decent size too! My bag was too far away from me at the time so didn't get to measure or weigh him, so I'll just let you guys estimate from the pictures.. I'm thinking 30"+ ? Spent another hour casting and nothing more, but I left happy for sure. I'll be back soon Passaic, I'm officially hooked!

That's awesome. The Passaic has been resurrected from a sterile toxic waste dump to a really good fishery.

I fished up by Two Bridges on Saturday afternoon. It was surprisingly crowded. I rarely run into other kayak-fishermen there, but they were out in force on Saturday.

Didn't really catch much. A small bass and a couple of perch. At least didn't get the skunk.
