Default Rising Sun Round 2

Went to Rising Sun today with my step dad. Slow day for him, he caught 1 bass on a shiner. I was a little better off. 3 bass and 1 sunny on rapalas. 1 Bass on shiner. fished a little deeper this week as it seems thats where the fish were. About 7 feet. Last week it was like 3 feet and all the fish were basically caught on shiners. Im clearly the worst for never taking pics but nothing huge was caught biggest 13 inches. However, I wish I had the camera because it had a black spot on its upper lip and one about a inch below its gill. they looked like black mud smeared on the fish but it was clearly not mud. Also it had a deformed tail. It had a curve in it. Reminded me if someone broke there arm and it healed but it was never set. Any ideas what eithier could be? What do you guys do if you catch a deformed or sick fish? Also anyone know if therescatfish in there?

I have seen photos of bass with those black spots, they don't seem to bother the fish at all. As far as the deformed tail, maybe something tried to take a bite out of it ? Check the NJ Fishing Digest to see if catfish were put in there, I think so.
