Saturday blues to bruise
Went down the beach to find 2 miles of birds, weekies hitting jigs, so happy to see them around but the eels were bored, so off we went. 90 foot of water n the blues already pressed down feeding like lazy stripers. Joe with pissed off yellow eyed demon topped the day at 17 lbs. all u could want, all on jigs all lived to see another day.
Commercial break: St Croix, 6 ft. 8-14 lb. rating. Dumb ass (me) asking to break it off, no can do....blues none, St croix many. Arms feeling like rubber collectively we vote to hit the River for Stripers, (eels had no vote or we'd been heading home). Bad idea, no striper, no ,life eels won. But a very special thanks to Boys with the Contenders n Regulators with tripples ripping down a Shrews / Nav river at 45 kts, in 9 ft water pass a 23 ft w a anchored up, hope you made it home to your Rumson country club dinner reservations....we sure enjoyed the ass kicking. Boating educate is lost on the clueless. Home we went. Tired, striperless but ready to do it again, minus 1 river.
