Gwl got all screwed up last summer after the winter draw down. I don't blame the marina. The municipalities should have to get insurance to protect the local businesses If the water level doesn't to back to its regular level for the next boating season.

I saw ernie from lees on monday and he told me that there is no problem launching 19 footers even w the 5 year drawdown. They lock the ramps on Nov. 31st and those last few weeks only the first or second ramps are open anyway, thats how it was last year. He also said that the guy who controls the dam water flow has it cranking already higher than normal. The daily discharge is around a half inch a day and its closer to an inch a day right now. Supposedly this is in anticipation of a possible stay by a judge to hear the complaint by marina/property owners. The discharge rate after this Sunday is 1.5" per day so they can be at 4 feet on the damn height stick by Dec 15th. It sucks cause Im almost to the point of having to pull my boat, I have a foot underneath me right now at my slip. And the ones who get most affected by this is the fishermen, the ones who keep that lake alive and healthy. If it wasnt for the Knee Deep Club and its efforts years ago w the "SaveTheLake" campaign, and the clubs continued efforts year after year w the lake cleanups and programs, the yahoos would have no lake to rip up in the summer.

I've never been on LH... been on many of the smaller lakes all around it, but never the big one. Hybrid Fest will be my first time, looking forward to it!

I was thinking that would happen.....alot of tax payers on that lake that want the drawdown for thier dock maintenance...they usually win over businesses in these types of situations.
