Default Fisherman Porgies

I went out last night on the Fisherman. I started out the day at the dock catching 11 nice size Spots & 5 nice Snappers. Then we went off on the porgy hunt we had a lot of tide to deal with but we all did quite well. I got 23 Porgy's & 1 short Striper plus a few pin size Sea Bass. I noticed only 1 Croaker caught that night. Everybody went home with a nice bag of filets last night. It was a very nice day to be out on the water. Capt. Dan did a great job as well as his crew members.

The picture must be at the dock before you sailed. I don't see any porgies in the mix. How big were the porgies. Were there any 3 lb slabs?

Yes the picture was at the dock I have another picture from my camera phone of the Porgies but it's just such a pain to go threw all the steps of downloading saving & then re size pictures or posting them to photobucket then copying transferring too much work & time if you ask me. No real big pork Chops last night pool fish maybe went a pound.

Hi Doug,

Are you sure you mean "The Fishermen" out of Atlantic Highlands and not "The Fisherman"?

If so, I checked their website and there are no reports of porgy fishing. The home page indicates that they are only going for Fluke.

I'd love to go out, but want to make sure you have the right boat or if I misread the post.

Thanx!

The same boat the AM trips are for Fluke. They do a evening trip for Porgies, Croakers or whatever hits the line. That evening we landed a few short Stripers as well. So you never know what can up on a trip like that it can turn out to be a real mixed bag. All I can tell you is that you will come home with fish & not have to deal with short fish.
