Default Weds Paramount Fishing

Started out fluking at the dock and it was slow with only 1 16"er. Went out with a good crowd in pretty snotty conditions. Pulled up a bit short as a 20 mile run would have been tough in the conditions and with several children aboard. Had steady fishing on mixed sized ling today. Captain Dennis kept saying it was the worst day he's had, but I think not being able to fish the area where high hooks had been in the 40s and 50s put him in a foul mood. I wound up with 27 ling, a few in the 3- 3 1/2lb class, Ray Bryant had 21 ling, Homer had 23 ling, John Grady and friend had 50 ling and 4 rental rods up front had 15-18 a piece. Pool was around 4lbs. Fluking was better when we got back in. I had 6 15"-17" fish in about 20 mins and then it went dead. I think the mornings are getting a bit too dark for good fluking.

Hey Tog

Still a respectable catch of one of the best tasting fish in the ocean.

We had ling tonight for dinner and there was not a flake of fish left on anyone's plate. "Is there any more ling left" was the real question at our dinner table

Fishing was fine, but Cappy wanted his 40s and 50s rather than 20s.

Don't really care about a cooler full as long as I get at least 20 so I don't seem like a googan in my report. I only kept 7 big ones for myself a a nice sea raven anyway.

Thumbs up Re: Weds Paramount Fishing

thanks for the report! I didn't like the weather and I am glad I didn't sit out a banner day. I hope next week looks better for my days off.
