Default Surf access?

I am coming down to NJ for a day or two, Fri night and sat... i may have a window of a few hours in the early am to fish for a few hours..
i was thinking of just going to the jetties with a few metals and perhaps a few jigs with Gulp and maybe catching a few small blues or even a fluke or two.. At LEAST a few birds...
I am no longer sure where I can get in however post Sandy.. For years I fished the rockpiles at Long Branch, Deal, Asbury, but now am not sure if I can park, or even if the jetties still stand...

Sandy Hook would be fine as well, but I have never taken the walk out to the tip, where I know there are fish. I have been there a thousand times in a boat but never fished it from shore, even when I lived in Union Beach. I have no idea if I can even get out there.. any help would be appreciated... bob

Please guys... I am not looking for someone to burn a hotspot. Just want to know a few surf areas I can get onto without getting a ticket, or my car towed away... bob

Here are a few areas I like to fish rift about I know.

1. Allenhurst L jetty. Their have been a lot of nice Fluke caught their lately. A few up to 5lb. Fish 2 hours before and after the tides with some gulp and strip bait if you have it. FWI, this jetty has a large muscle bed at the tip and on the L side. It is very sticky so be wise with the kind of rig you are throwing. I would use bucktails the entire time you are fishing
At any of the spots I mention.

2. The Deal jetties. Go to Roosevelt Ave. and Phillips Ave jetties(streets are just off Ocean Ave) and work them well. Walk on the beach North and South to the other jetties to increase your catch. Do the same thing I said for Allenhurst in regards to tides. 2 hours before and after.

Thanks Snapper.. I am familiar with the Roosevelt jetty in Deal.. Fished it for years... I didn't know if I could park there or gain access to the beach anymore... Perhaps I will try the Deal jetties, and the surf between them... Thanks bob

Bob, I would fish the jetties only. You have a better angle and presentation with your bait with the moving water of the tide, as for the incoming or outgoing. The jetty always has this advantage, while the beach has it only on certain days correlating with conditions. This time of year the wind is usually only 5-10 kts and water displacement is always present around the jetty along with the ecosystem which it sustains.

I was at Sandy Hook on Father's Day, the area around the tip is closed off for the goony birds or whatever is nesting there this time of year, so you can't walk up from North Beach, and I didn't try to get there from the other trail. The access road to the designated fishing beach was still closed.
