Default Beltzville Lake stripers/cattys

Anyone fish Beltzville lake in Lehighton? I live about 20 min away and since the shad run is over, I want to get my boat up there to target stripers and catfish. I have tried for catfish before up there with no luck. Just looking for some tips...or if anyone knows the lake well and wanted to help a rookie lol. I hear there are nice stripers in that lake, and i would hope there are some nice catfish as well. Any info would be great. Also looking for guys to go along fishing from time to time...PM me with any info or advice.

You ever tried Nockamixon? I've caught a couple of 25lb striped since I started fishing there in Oct. Also numerous 10 lb+ channels cats, recent gill net surveys at nockamixon have cause them to not stock anymore channel cats because they are doing so well. Its a tough lake because there's an absolute TON of bait. Try epfr.net for eastern pa lakes and reports.....there's a spot on there dedicated to Beltsville. I wanna get up there myself sometime this summer.

Pretty sure its gotta be 9.9HP or less. I know alot of guys with 15hp motors have a 9.9 cover to get away with going on nockamixon.

Didn't the lake loose a lot of fish when it was lowered 5-6 years ago? I'm not sure if I have my facts straight, but I don't think Beltzville is what it used to be. Pure strain Stripers on big jigging spoons in the deep. Pretty sick fishing. I know the Nock is still AWESOME. One lake is 9.9 and the other is 15-20 when it comes to HP rules.

The Nock is 20hp limit, which I think is great because it eliminates water skiing, etc.

I have caught them over 15lbs regularly There's tons of bait and for 10 dollars you can a buy a permit to cast net them, which is what I do. There's also huge fat wipers.....a guy showed me one lastnight that he said was 14lbs.

Caught this one in October 25lbs. 40".

I've been fishing there a yr or so and have gotten skunked, but when i catch a monster it keeps me going back there.

ETA.....this week has been epic for me!
