Default Spearing

Where's the best place to buy a case of frozen spearing?

Thanks in advance.

Frozen Smelt @ Shop-Rite in Hazlet (with heads on). Cheaper, bigger, better . . .

exactly, stuff in bait shops and what they give you on PBs are small. Besides the above, try an Asian market, bigger half the price or less the ones we shop. Also a great place for very large squid tubes cheap.

Most of your frozen spearing is caught in the dead of winter

Pete, I 've heard the storm screwed up a lot of the spearing suppliers, for one reason or another. We normally have netted a shit load by now to be honest, haven't seen them in the regular spots , when they were there they were small. My bait guy in town can't even get me my annual two cases of the premiums I usually get. The smelts in S.R. are a good option though. good Luck!!

Beware of getting spearing leftover from last year's freezer. Stuff will just disintgerate.

Talking Re: Spearing

Don't you mean Gulp spearing, or is jigging now the old method of catching your tournament winners?
