Default Kayak fluke fishing Highlands

Slack high tide, shallow water, light buck tails, lots of shorts and this nice big one. Caught, flipped into the yak (dangerous situation barefoot and in shorts), photo, released. Beautiful night.

Nice fish but if your going to release them don't put your finger's in the gills. it does more harm than good.

Thank you, I've asked that question many times and was always told "it's fine" but felt like it was harmful. I only grabbed the gills to hold him up for the quick picture but then it was all tail. He swam away strong. I was once told I can pinch them right at the fins and get a good grip, but I think my hands are too small.
