Friday 5/17 raritan bay

Fished this evening from 5-9 , we were able to get some bunker up the river today before heading out. Tried trolling stretchs on the edge of the swash channel before setting up chunking and shucking. After 20 minutes with no bites we swung east and set up on the edge of the knoll. Took a little while to get any hits but finally got the first fish 14# bass, then another same size. Had some blues mixed in as well, nice healthy specimens . 1 more 17# bass and a bunch more blues and we called it a night. Two bass on clam, one on a fresh head.
On the ride in we ran over something around the ammo pier, it was something like a tree branch but never really got a good look at it. It was partially submerged and after it went under the drive it kind of disappeared , I probably should have turned around but was more worried about damage. Nothin on the drive or prop showed damage so we continued back without a problem
