Thumbs up Raritan River Tiger, Striper 5/10

Hit the river again today for a while. Nobody was there at all, where did everyone go? Casted big baits from late morning until noon when I got my first fish of the day, TIGER!!! WHOOOOOOOOO!!!! A good little fight again with a couple of nice jumps. The toothy freak was 30 inches or so, very healthy. Got him on the big yellow BOMBER. Cmoran showed up to witness the catch and release. He was getting some nice white perch on worms at the wall. Shucker showed up around 130 or so and started casting and snagged a very strange species. Check out the pic fellas, what the hell is this thing? Around 2 I got a fish on again, real lazy strike on the jointed rainbow trout BOMBER. STRIPER, short but good to see. He was around 21 inches but kinda chunky. Its just the beginning. Water is getting real low, its almost back to its normal level already, need more rain tonight. 2 inches would be nice. Cmoran had left and Shucker and I kept casting, Shucker hooks his very first Walleye at around 315. Also on a BOMBER. Eye was around 15 inches. Congrats buddy, I wish you many more Eyes! A very interesting day at the falls. Sometimes you gotta cast 500 times to be rewarded an the MIGHTY RARITAN RIVER! YEA BUDDY!!! TIGHT LINEZ!!!

Thanx buddy!!! It took alot of casting today. No other fish with Stripes to be seen after that one. Nothing trying to jump the falls either, weird. There was a cormorant fishing the entire morning but that bastard came up empty. Surprised he didnt get a shad!!!

Could that strange species be a quillback?
