Wow - that's really something.
I learned never to underestimate the size prey a bass will go after. I can't remember the source, but I read bass will easily consume soft-rayed fish that are half their own size. Twice last summer, I was reeling in a small fish and had a bigger bass attack the smaller hooked fish. I caught one of the bass, the other didn't hook itself.
