Default Shark river stripers?

Does anyone have any luck fishing the shark river for stripers? I was wondering if the fishermans den boat rentals would be a viable option to get into stripers in the shark river inlet? I've fluke fished it last year off those rental boats and caught a bunch but no keepers. Also wondering if bass are caught that far in, are there bunker or baitfish or is it usually on clams or chunks or plugs?

I'm anxious to see some replies here. I always think about throwing shads around the bridge when we are going through there, never did try it yet though. Looks like they would hang around there.

Definitely a night time thing not for the rental boats. You'll have to learn the spots and access. This area was hit hard by Sandy and is re-building which will affect access. Good time to go and check it out during the day

The big difference between fluke and stripers is fluke don't care about boat traffic because they are fixed to the bottom. Stripers don't like boats. And shark river has a lot of boats. Late night or first light would be your best bet and good luck trying to rent a boat at night.

No need to rent a boat , you can wade out between 35 and 71 at sunset at or near high tide or into the night at high, good topwater action for schoolies
