Default Ocean Explorer Thursday

1-17-13 Again pretty decent conditions ocean wise today...The life on the bottom today was again pretty lively. As soon as you hit bottom you were getting chewed..Problem today was the bergalls and eels were pretty lively..Using clam was tough when these critters were hungry..No dogfish today I guess that was one benefit but it was tough to put together a catch of ling unless you were just bouncing the gulps on the bottom. Then high hook only had about a dozen ling..Average had maybe a half dozen ling,,some did not fair so well...Few nice keeper Codfish mixed in and some keeper sea bass..The pollock today that we caught were just shorts...So overall not as good as we have been doing but we caught some fish..Pics..

Bergalls, bergalls and more bergalls. I kept a few larger ones and mate Mike filleted them along with 5 ling, one big scarpin and a herring I snagged reeling up. Sour cream and onions on the herring and I'll try the scarpin and bergalls fried tomorrow. Don't know who had a dozen. No one near me.
