Default High Fuel Costs

The next time you complain about fuel it could always be worse. Consider that the cruise liner, QE2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel fuel that it burns.

I dont think this is possible .

1 gallon to 6 inches =

2 gallons per foot =

10560 gallons per mile

Figure roughtly 3000 miles between NY and UK

That would be 31.6 MILLION gallons to cross the atlantic

No worry Obama's got Solyndra working on a solar power system for the QE2. They just need a few billion tax dollars to get it going.

The QE2 site claims 49.5 feet per gallon which translates to 320,000 gallons for 3000 mile voyage

6 inches or 49 feet, what's the difference? That's what I get for passing along stuff without checking. Should have been suspicious when the "odd facts" before this one were "it's immpossible to sneeze with your eyes open" and "goldfish only have a three second memory span." Sounded cool anyway.
