got to the water around 12, first tried for some millstone river pike. fished from lake Carnegie's dam and worked my way downstream with a tandem spinner. must have walked a mile, fishing every possible spot, walking through the thickest weeds and thorn bushes. first strike happened next to a tree a few feet out, looked like a big green flash, then nothing for a while. eventually made my way to a fast moving rocky area with deep pools off to the side that looked promising. made a cast on the opposite shoreline and hooked up to an 11" bass instantly. continued to get a few strikes every now and then through the day, and turned around when the weeds got too thick...on the way back i switched to a #5 blue fox vibrax and got a yellow perch of all things

left the water at 4.
Later went out to Farrington lake at 6 with the same lure and got a small bass near the shoreline. switched to a scumfrog for the lily pads. had a bass explode on it, hooked up for a few seconds then threw the hook. drag was a bit too loose so i couldnt get a good hookset

. finished off with a buzzbait but the only thing biting was mosquitoes

. 3 fish, slow day but i'll get my pike eventually.
