Default snappers

my wacky senko finally caught something...sort of. stopped at a spot I know at echo lake park on my way home from kenilworth and tossed my o-ring mounted wacky rig senko into a deep creek. no hit but my line starts slowly moving up the creek. I take in the slack and feel a thud. I had 30lb braid on so I started lifting and reeling down like you'd do for a tuna that's sounded. up from the deep comes about a 25lb snapper that snagged himself swimming by my rig. at first I wanted my worm back and considered grabbing him by the tail as you can see I've done in the past but as soon as he saw me he took off screaming my line out. I played him for about 20 minutes which was a great test for my rod, reel, and braid, got him next to shore and realized I had nothing to cut the line with.
he went down again and wrapped himself in some tree roots so I took a piece of wood and wrapped it around my braid pulling til it broke. powerpro never ceases to amaze me, I swear you could tow a car with it!

There's a big one at Round Valley that has visited me quite a bit the last few years. He managed to take the tail off one of my finessee worms just the other week.

Whenever I see him I reel in and cast in the opposite direction he's swimming towards. Really don't want any part of him but it's always very cool when he cruises by. There's a smaller one now too making the rounds there.
