![]() Headed up to Biddeford Maine for the next couple days to visit some family. Naturally, the first thing I did was research some fishing spots.
Looks like ill be staying about 10min from the Saco river. Large smallies and a possibility of some trout on the menu. Also see the Saco river salmon club is close but not sure its the right time of year for that...... Hoping to hit the Connecticut river on the way home. Seems like they have some nice smallies as well, along with a healthy pike population roaming those waters. ![]() Hope to have some featured specimens to report about............

![]() Thanx!! Not really expecting to much since ill be shore fishin in unfamiliar areas. My best bet so far is a park along the Saco as a starting point.
Best case scenario, I don't get fined or arrested and maybe hook into a beast of some kind!! ![]()

![]() Hahahahahahaha............
I meant for trespassing, not fishing without a license. Figure, if the parks a bust, I saw some nice pulloffs were I could easily drop a line. I fully intend to stop at the local spot and "fish for info" while I donate $30 to ur "home" state!! Sorry, do u own some private land in the area?? Better you report me now rather than wait till I catch (and release) all ur fish!!!!! PS Thanx for the tips, and good luck on ur next outings. ![]()

![]() Hit up a local (un-named by Google maps) stream this morning. Luckily it was just a few minutes away from the hotel. Looked promising, but I came up empty.
Luckily tomorrow ill be hitting the Saco for a few hours around sunrise. According to the hotel manager, I've got a much better chance of success there. Funny how he was more helpful than the person selling the license. Also found it funny how the local freshwater digest lists pike, picks, and musky as an invasive species and insists that none are released back into the waters. Apparently they have the largest pop of wild brook trout left in the nation. Unless 5# is the norm, I'd rather catch a big pike, lol........... ![]() ![]() ![]()

![]() I vacationed at pemaquid point campground for 3-5 years in a row. we fished freshwater constantly and caught plenty of smallies and LM on assorted sencos and mister twisters. shiners actually worked very well up in VACATIONLAND. The biggest aTUNA I've ever seen in my life was weighed in at a lil LOBSTER HOUSE /BAR in BOOTHBAY HARBOR, MAINE.
