Default monster smallie

forgot to post this giant i got with my nephew mid april the saturday before bass season closed. i emailed andy the pic and hope he can post it.

im out of town for a few months and ive been reading about the raritan. especially lard's post..

the raritan upstream from south bound brook from raritan to neshanic has always been incredible smallie, carp, largemouth and giant pure strain musky which are now gone bec of some ppl i kno bow shot all of em 15 20 yrs ago,,, scumbags.. i havent seen or heard of a nice musky in many yrs bec of these 3 or 4 dudes from raritan which i will not mention there names.

also im happy to say it always had large herring populations. i kno this bec almost every year i see large balls of herring and i snag one or two of them out and use as bait, especiall manville to nevias street raritan and although i only fish for smallmouth i accidentally catch shad and walleye from robert street.

im the raritans biggest fan bec i live on it my entire life.. idk if this is good or bad but i wish we can get some muskie and pike back in the raritan.

The Raritan is a great fishery. I cut my chops as a kid biking down to the river, wading up to my chest in nothing but shorts and sneakers, pitching jigs and rapalas for smallies. It always amazed me how alive that river was, and not just with fish. On any given day you could see herons, osprey, deer, turkey, turtles, snakes, frogs, muskrats, and a myriad of other critters.

You and I have to hook up some day to do some down 'n dirty Raritan River fishing. We need to trade notes.
