Hit Farrington @ 9 am and threw all conceivable trout lures without a scratch. We only saw one swimming by the boat near the end of the trip.
Well we got off that and started to fish the pads (what are of them at this time of year) and lots of swirls...
Must have had 10-15 pickerel attack the bait (twitch bait across the pads) and only hooked up with one, but the aggressive nature of these guys is so awesome on topwater even if there is not a hookup. The explosion is priceless.
Managed two LMB as well, same pattern, up to 2 lbs and a few yellow perch on a fly rod...in the pads
Was off the lake by noon but may hit it again tomorrow. Will also be trying for the trout, but have the pattern for catching and Explosive strikes nailed
Twitching the bait over the lily pads resulted in a follower...man I wish I had the camera...lure got stuck in moss and the fish just suspended...waiting for the twitch...EXTRA LARGE PICKEREL waiting for tomorrow.
All fish caught in < 3 ft of water.
