Default fish in a barrel

hit the Po after stocking on thursday, it was all bows. fished for an hour and a half and landed 18.

more peeps there on thursday then on opening day! used to be a nice quiet spot, don't know how the word got out.

One thing that burns my ass is the amount of fish people are taking. I know they paid their fee for the stamp and are entitled to them, but how many fish do you need? I see the same guys almost every day taking fish. almost all of them non english speaking. Is it a cultural thing? what do you do with 6 trout 4-5 times a week?

Likie I said, I know they paid for the stamp so what are you gonna do

season total 78 (two taken for dinner one night) all others released

Nice job steve!! Ill be hitting the stream today.. Cant wait.. Yea i dont understand what people do with all that trout.. i see guys taking there limit everyday.. thats too much trout for me.. once and a while is fine.. but i enjoy releasing them to catch another day.. not kill them all because i paid for a trout stamp..

saw you there Steve, but i stayed up river. (too may peeps down there) got about a dozen, mostly bows and a couple of brookies. highlight was nice big brown i got. landed him while still standing in the river- no net. only one i kept. all fish caught on spinner. worked my way down stream and you were gone by then. good deed for the day- saw a nice rainbow on a stringer that was wrapped around a tree branch in the water. the stringer looked like it had been there a couple of days as it was all discolored. so i let the fish go and the stringer will go to my son. second time i let a fish go in the po that was already caught.

Sounds like a TROUT MASSACRE up there......... Half the guys that keep that many trout per day or 30 per week wind up leaving them in there freezer for 3 years! Lots of wasted fish all over NJ.
