![]() I headed out this morning to Pia Costa Lake (lincoln Park) from 7 -8:30am... I managed my first large mouth of the year which was measured at a whopping 8 inches... I was going for Pike and my lure which was the jointed "firetiger" rapala was almost as big as the bass... LOL
At 9am I hit the Passaic River at 2bridges area on the way home and I managed 2 Northern Pike both about 20"... caught both on Fire tiger/silver spoon. I also had the Pike of all Pikes trail my lure not once but twice... This Pike had to be at least 45" or more... He was huge... ![]() |

![]() I went out yesterday and today for about 2 hours each morning with the kayak. Yesterday, I had 3 pike all about 30 inches and today I landed 2 about the same size and lost one close to 40" at the side of the kayak trying to get the camera mount set up for a picture. All were caught with a white/chartruse spinner bait. Also had a bunch of follows and a few misses.
The wind was pretty strong each morning which makes for some tough conditions with the kayak along with the current and sometimes I can only get a couple casts in each prime spot. Danny V |
