Thumbs up R.V.T.A. stocking lunkers !!!

The RVTA is stocking 112 Browns/Rainbows/Goldens all jaw tagged March 24th at 10am (dirt boat launch). Come on out and look at these monsters that are being stocked.

Two very special fish are being stocked!
Tag numbers 801 and 802 are roughly 27", 8lb to 10lb each
(Tag 801 is a Rainbow, Tag 802 is a Brown)
These two are being stocked in memory of Steve Welgoss
Not only are they both eligible for the RVTA prizes that are awarded in Feb 2013, each is also worth a $100.00 Gift Certificate to Lebanon Bait!
Good Luck Everyone!

LOL, All I got yesterday was a dink smallmouth, a Bluegill, and a hefty serving of wind in my face!

Next weekend it's on for sure.

What is the best method to target thsese fish?
I have a kayak but no down rigging gear. They are down deep right?
I fish for them in Lake George NY just after ice out when th are up on top to 20 fow chasing the smelt which are enterimg the streams to spawn.
Thanks

Until they get acclimated after stocking and the water really warms up they do cruise the shallows. It's pretty cool when you see a school of 8 LBS rainbows lurking around, 2 years ago in the boatramp area I was wading between the 2 ramps and they were swimming inside 20 feet of me.

You might want to check the RVTA website forums and the trophy trout threads on what/how people caught them on.
