Clipped fins on stockies???
I've always heard that you can tell a stocked trout from a native trout by looking if a fin has been clipped. Which fin is it and where is it on the fish?

Re: Clipped fins on stockies???
Not clipped, just rubbed off on the concrete raceways at the hatchery.
In time all the fins grow back. |

Re: Clipped fins on stockies???
Always be looking for the tag in the mouth. NJ HOOK A WINNER PROGRAM
Caught one in 2008 and was wondering what the heck the tag was. Looked it up and found it. Basically ya get a certificate, a patch, and entry to some kind of grand prize drawing that I didnt get or expect to get. Still unexpected and cool There are only ~ 1000 trout tagged each year in the entire state and possibly many are not caught. Hey I hit the trout lottery in 2008! |
