Default Mountain Lake access

want to fish Mountain Lake but my wife warnend me I better take a ride and see the condition fo the lake since the hurricane! well I went over there today and to my suprise there is a sign "boat launch closed for the season"!
the boat launch looks fine [except someone put hay in front of it] the parking lot not to good but useable!not knowing who owns it
I contacted fish and game what a nasty bitch that took my call! she told me fish and game dont own the launch and I should go to the court house to find out who owns the launch!
this is a lake stocked by NJ fish and game plus its a trophy Muskie lake and I think I read somewhere were some muskie club helps the state with muskies in this lake! and now we the public are denied access to the fall fishing just like that! WTF!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE LAKES gone for fall fishing! this isnt right!!
there are some properties for sale around the lake maybe fish and game should spend some $$ buy a property and make a new decent boat launch!

I went up there about 3 weeks ago with my buddy and his 14" boat/trailer. While sitting *by* the launch in the car, we had a local fly up is his pickup truck screaming at us to "get the **** out of here" and that the town was a "disaster area". Not cool. Apparently they had a mudslide near the ramp last month. I would assume its going to be kayak/canoe until they take care of whatever they need to do.

That part by the boat ramp is owned by the town, The last I heard the ramp will be closed until the clean-up is complete.
I will be up there tonite, If I find anything out about it's opening I will post it.

Is there even anything wrong with the ramp? I would certainly hope there is some safety issue and not just some po-dunk municipality denying access to public waters. If that's the case, than the state should stop stocking fish in there that are paid for by OUR fishing licenses. What a bunch of crap.

There is nothing wrong with the ramp, the town was using it as a staging area for the mud slide clean-up. It seems to be just about complete. That town has made a lot of bad decisions in the past few years.
We just had another 4 1/2 in. of rain this morning. Who knows what problems this will bring.

I retract the venom from the last statement. I called the municipality and they said there are still a ton of issues with the ramp and that it is not usable. The lady was (fairly) nice, said she was there yesterday and that it's still a mess. I asked when it might be fixed and she said they're still waiting for insurance adjusters to come out since there was a lot of damage. There you go. Move along.
