![]() Like the title says, I'm looking for a new lake/reservoir to fish while I am down at my shore house in Lavallette. Hoping to put some south Jersey Bass/Pike/Pickerel into my kayak....any suggestions?

![]() Hey man, I haven't done much freshwater fishing in that area, but I've heard LOTS of people talk about the Forge Pond. I believe it's in the Toms River/Point Pleasant area. I know there are bass and pickerel in there as well as some HUGE white perch, like 2lb.+ white perch. I hear they're a blast to tie into on light gear, but I know that bait of choice is grass shrimp if you can scare some up. Good luck man. New moon tonight, I'll be on the beach looking for a BROWN SHARK. As FastEddie says......GO BIG OR GO HOME!!!!

![]() Lots of options. Lake Carasaljo, Lake Shenandoah, Deal Lake, Manasquan Reservoir, just to name a few. Smallmouths, hybrids, and huge tiger muskies in Manasquan!

![]() Lake Shenandoah has decent fishing for bass and pickeral. Work the shoreline and you should do well. Very weedy lake and Im sure there are some big fish in there. Fished it 2 times this spring/summer. Both times I had possible encounters with tiger muskies which are in the lake. First time I had something long and slender follow a bass I hooked. It was only 2 ft long but didn't look like a pickeral. Also had a massive blowup on a topwater that looked more like a cow striper smashing a bunker than a bass or pickeral attacking a topwater. Had to check for brown stains after that encounter
![]() Good luck if you go. |
