Hit Sheperds Mills again this morning. We got on the water at 5:15 am. We threw topwaters as usual. The bite was strong the first 2 hours then it died. Not the insane action of last Thursday but it was still very good. We got off the lake at 9:15 am. We had 25 bass by that time. No pickeral mixed in but I had a cutoff and several violent slashes. We decided that Clark's Pond would be a good next choice considering it was close by and that we could manage a mixed bag out of there.
Got on Clark's Pond at 10:15 am. We worked the entire lake several times before we were done. Got off the lake at 1:30 pm. Fish didn't want to participate that much. We had 10 pickeral, bass, crappie, yellow perch and sunfish. Big fish was a 2 lb. bass. Most of our fish were in deeper water.
Overall it was a good day. We caught 35 fish in a little over 7 hours. Not bad for late July

. Plan on hitting Assunpink tommorow. I plan on throwing some bigger topwaters looking for quality not quantity. One 3lb. or better bass on topwater is all I want before we look for crappies.
