Thumbs down Lake Hopatcong 6/26

Fasteddie and company did not do very well in the tournament last night. Im wondering if any of my Njfishing friends did any better, hopefully some of you guys put a hurtin on some fish last night. Me and my partner managed 1 walleye 1 striper 1 largemouth 1 pickeral and a couple of slab crappie. Couldnt catch a good fish if our lives depended on it. Worse day/ night Ive had on the big lake in 5 years. Somebody please let me know how they did or let me know if you had a hard time like me and my buddy!!! Fished for 12 hours and came up with CRAP!

Bait Spawn... like all the lake fish are "on a hatch" like trout...been super frustrating fish slamming the surface everywhere and very few bites. the DSI was reading the upper 3' of water solid with bait and fat lazy fish. it's almost done and true summer slammin is about a week away. Same @ Shwartswood last week & a few smaller ponds... better luck!

Eddie, don't know if this helps your mystery, but my buddy was out on Friday night and nailed over 20 fish including a musky. He was out again last night but he's prob sleeping and haven't talked to him yet. I was out there with him last Saturday, and although it wasn't crazy-fast, we had over a dozen combined walleye and stripes and one largemouth.

Yea Catfish Ive had my 20-30 fish nights on the lake this year and was kinda excited for the tourney last night. There was no lack of fish on the lake, just a lack of hooking them. I was throwing all the right stuff made moves found plenty of fish. Oh well better luck next time. Talked to a few buddies that had a hard time as well last night. TIGHT LINES!!!

I hear ya Eddie. Reports have been good, figures the fishing would be off the day of the tourney.

I have the fished the lake hard in my boat throwing many presentations of spinners, crank baits and top water about 6 times in the past few weeks. I have been skunked every time. Fished all different times too.
I think the combination of boat traffic and available food are making these fish lazy and frazzled.
I have never seen so many boats in my life on the weekends, looks like the Turnpike at rush hour.
So off to Northern Ontario now, hope to have a better fishing report than this one. Continued success to the guys and gals that are catching on LH!!
