![]() Hit up the big bowl last night in search of some big bass. Got there a little after 10pm, rigged up and got out there on my bud's bass boat. Our chosen weapon was just soft plastics or lures. Water was about 71*, and it was hazy and humid out. 3/4 moon came up around 11pm and lit up the sky all night.
Started out on the left shoreline and found nothing. Only found 1 LMB myself about 3.75lbs or so and a dink rock bass around the left pump house area. My bud caught 3-4 LMB himself, lost a few, biggest up to maybe 3.25-3.5lbs. Stayed out until about 230am and called it. Never really found a great bite or a concentrated area of them. It's funny how quite round valley is compared to spruce run at night. I kept wanting to hear bait break the surface, or the tail slap of a hybrid. Oh well, until next time. |

![]() Did you think of hitting the shallow Rangers cove, lotsa weed beds back there. RVR is a funny place, the next fish might be 2 lbs, or 10lbs.
Sounds like a nice night out on the water. I found this photo, a fish just caught at Spruce Run the other day. |

Nice hybrid. Surprised they caught it during the day. My biggest at night there is around the 4lb mark, hoping for bigger ones of those as well. As far as area, not sure really as my buddy knows the resevoir better than I do, especially by boat. It seems like any actual land or coves had no fish. Only the rocky areas. |
