![]() Mainly use spinners and rapala cd3 when fishing the rivers for trout. However I am interested in learning how to jig for trout.. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Like technique, types of jig heads to use.. Thank U

![]() I usually fish a 2" Mr. Twister-style grub on a 1/32 oz. unpainted lead head. In skinnier water I may go to a 1/64, and in deeper or faster water I may use a 1/16. As for colors, you should play around a bit to find out what works best on your waters, but I have had the most success on white in high or stained water, and brown with black flake in low, clear water. Browns in particular seem partial to the white. Normally I reserve the jigs for small pockets, like eddies behind rocks or holes beneath tree roots, but they can work well in open water too.
Also, if you can get away with it, use a light braided line for jig fishing, as sometimes feeling the strike is very difficult.
