Default South Florida Drift Boat Recommendations??

Looks like my son is going to FAU starting this Fall. We're going on a visit in March and plan on hitting one of the head boats. I'm willing to travel anywhere from Fort Lauderdale up to West Palm Beach. TIA for suggestions.

Try the Starlight out of Pompano (Hillsboro Inlet)
A Jersey run family business and current boat was the old Miss Belmar II / Freddy C

I fished on " Living on Island Time " out of Palm Beach Marina. My buddy is on there weekly. Good captain/crew, and not normally crowded. Catch 'em up.

My daughter goes to FAU so I've been there several times. For headboats close by there is the starlight and also fish city drift headboats. Both about 1/2 hour south from campus at Hillsboro inlet. I go on the Fish City. Nothing glamorous. $60 includes everything except tip. 4 hour fishing and only a couple miles and minutes to 200' of water. They only fill 1 side of the boat. Nice captain and mates. Never been on Starlight. Also, Sea Mist in Boynton Beach. I believe the same offering. ~ 1/2 hour away north of campus. Right next to Two Georges bar and grill - cool spot. About the sea mist, seas were calling 4-6' up to 8' and they still went out. Last week. That scared me from going.

Cool fishing - lots of variety. My first time I thought they were crazy with my set up - 1 ounce egg sinker for drifting in 200'? I learned, when in Rome...

PM me if you have questions about the school if you want.

Mystic Rose out of Jupiter. I have done very well on this boat and for a few more dollars than a head boat you can do a walk on with reservation.
