![]() Got an invite to fish with my buddies Bill and Rich and the plan is to leave from Manasquan around 10 AM and target the school Bluefin and Mahi. Weather looks almost perfect and hope to get something for the table. Really enjoy these kind of trips this time of year because of the possibilities. You never know what you’ll see or catch.
If anyone else is heading out and wants to keep in touch out there, PM me with your cell phone number.

![]() Best of luck Gerry!
Having never been; what is considered mid-shore? How far out for a shot at those species? Thanks. |

![]() General area is the Mudhole and just inshore of it so it depends where you are leaving from and which section you want to fish. Our typical trips from the Sandy Hook area you run 40 to 50 miles round trip. From Manasquan and Belmar more like 30 to 40 miles. Sometimes the Bluefin can be a lot closer but the Mahi are usually around the pots which are out in along the walls of the Mudhole.

![]() Blue bird day, seemed like perfect conditions to venture offshore. Any report from your mid shore excursion? Considering heading offshore Friday so curious how you made out today.

Oh well, still a nice day to be out, have some laughs and tell some fishing stories and lies.

![]() Wow that's crazy to cover that much water with nothing to show. Any idea what the water temps were? Thanks for the report. Curious were you pulling artificials, rigged ballyhoo, chunking, jigging etc?

I think part of our issue is we weren’t in the grounds until 11:30 since I saw reports of others who were done by 10:30. We on the other hand didn’t see anything on the surface or on the finder in that area. I’d go for as early as possible on Friday before the wind is predicted to run out of the east. Even then it would be at you back on the way home.
