Default GOLDEN EAGLE - A VARIETY OF FISH IN TODAY'S CATCH!

We had a variety of fish today with GREAT ACTION ON JUMBO SEA BASS! There were nice long drifts and everyone had their SEA BASS. The overs were safely released.

We also picked away on the LING and had NICE KEEPER FLUKE onboard.

We caught a few BLUES on jigs and bottom bait. There were plenty of bunkers up on top with an occasional fish in them.

Bring the family and enjoy this beautiful weather and an exciting day of fishing on the Golden Eagle.

See you in the morning.

The GOLDEN EAGLE sails every day for STRIPERS & BLUES at 7:30 am from Belmar Marina in Belmar, NJ.

For more information visit us at
www.goldeneaglefishing.com or call 732-681-6144.

See you onboard.

Why would you fish in those areas targeting Seabass and ling when you can only keep one Seabass. I guess it’s because the fluke fishing sucks that bad anymore.

oh I dunno... Expectations are really low in the modern age.. Lots of guys today are fine with catching a few shorts, and at least having the chance to hang a keeper here and there. I see fluke only boats saying things like -"we had 25+ keepers today plus short life- several limits onboard today as well"..

Yeah ok, but that might be for 35-40 guys, meaning half or better take nothing home... For many, thats fine.. Me personally, I don't even try anymore, its simply to much effort for too little return these days, considering the costs and time involved. I suppose if you are a local, with a boat, its still worthwhile..

Of course there are still fish out there, and there's always tomorrow if you have a really bad day..

I give credit to the capt,, he goes where he can get some fish in the boat for his fares, be it a single Sea Bass, some Ling, Blues, Macs,Bonito when they show, maybe a stray Porgy,Trigger, Flounder, Whiting, whatever else is available. All respect here, he's doing his best with the hand he's been dealt. Goes with the hot hand, and catches whatever bites best on any given day.. I like the approach!.... bob
