Default Exploration trip!

I decided to try some totally different areas to fish for fluke than I normally do. Took a ride to the NW of the barn. It started off slow but finally started to pick away at shorts and some close to 18" fish. Hit about 6 good looking area's and finally started to catch bigger fish. Then the wind picked up against the tide and it was time to go home. I will definitely be going back to fish this area again. The water was warmer and there was bait there so it worth another try. Sometimes it's good to get out of fishing the same area's and try something new. Tight lines!

Next time it's wind against tide and you're a sitting duck - throw that light jig up current and work it back!

Setting aside an hour or two to explore is always a good idea, and can pay off in a big way down the road. Even if you strike out - eliminating dead water is part of the game! Great job!

Nice report! Haven’t headed NW in quite some time. Maybe hit up a few old school haunts may be in order this week.

Sent you a PM with some info.

I will try that! I've watched some of your vids and your interview on the NJMS podcast. Great info and content! Let me know if you ever want to try some of your small jig tactics from a boat. Tight lines!
