He was by himself? Wow.

Thats super difficult to land alone with bigger sharks.

Must obviously hold rod.
Hand wire in line. Usual 12-15' wire leader.
Fly gaff the head.
Tail rope.
And blow its brains out with only 2 hands.
Then the easy part- drag it into the boat.
