Default Mallard Eggs on the Boat

So here is a story that I am positive you have never heard before ! I get down to the boat this morning at around 6:30 am. I load up and step behind the helm to start the engines. When I look down I see two what look like eggs ! Initially I think it’s a joke, no joke. A mallard duck has laid two eggs on the mat behind the helm. So, what to do...I wrap them in towels , put them in a bucket and my new grandchildren go fishing with me. When I got back, I cleaned the boat and put them back where I found them...stupid ducks...btw I didn’t leave them at the dock because the seagulls would surely have eaten them....

Happy 4th of July

I'm sure the Democrats and NOAA will find a direct link to climate change and a reason to reduce boat speeds in marinas.

If the hen duck does not return you can eat them. I buy them on a farm on Rte 79 for a buck each. Very rich tasting but the shells are much harder than chicken eggs.

UPDATE....

Arrived at the boat this morning and there was yet another egg, bringing the total to three . I packed them up and took them fishing, they seemed to like it.
