Flounder and blues
Took 81 years old brother Joe fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this evening on the full moon flood tide. Air temp was 18 degrees cooler than the inland temperature. Nobody was in my spot for the sixteenth time this year. Incoming tide in the inlet was very swift because of the moon 🌝 tide. Had a few hits but caught nothing for more than an hour and a half. Caught, tagged and released a 15” bluefish on my brother John’s homemade synthetic buck tail teaser but it bit off my Ava A-17. The bluefish bit off 4 of the 6 Ava jigs that I bought from Grumpy’s Tackle Shop recently. Saw bluefish jumping out of the water in the middle of the inlet. Reeled in 2, but the Ava fish 🐟 fell off when I lifted the double from the inlet. Caught, tagged and released my first windowpane flounder for this year with an Ava A-17. Then I caught, tagged and released my second 17” bluefish for the day on John’s teaser. The fish 🎣 hit for < 1 hour after the current subsided. A fisherman caught a blue near my car when I left.
