NOAA offshore wind report
2 1/2 year joint study , a whole 150,000 (peanuts ).
IMO still raises a lot of questions to how bad the effects will be . Would def like to see the whole 388 page report posted for public view . https://finance.yahoo.com/news/repor...185959576.html

Re: NOAA offshore wind report
A $60,000/year study wouldn’t be sufficient for a duck pond.

Re: NOAA offshore wind report
Google or Bing "block island offshore wind farm effect on fishing". Completed in 2018. There is a video of a party boat fishing near them and the observation of the captain as well as other articles and opinions. Why "study" what will happen if you build an offshore wind farm when you can open your eyes and see the result? I'll answer my own question. The NOAA people doing the studies that also create the ridiculous fishing regulations some of you guys follow would be out of a job and they don't want that.

Re: NOAA offshore wind report
This ship has proverbially sailed. If an injunction on the construction of wind farms or the re-examination of the federal and state data which was analyzed as part of the application and the eventual issuance of construction permits is to be considered, a law suit needs to filed. The person or organization filing the law suit had better have very deep pockets and alot of staying power. Other than that, you're whisting in the wind, unfortunately.

Just curious since you brought it up, what fishing regulations do you follow if not the official "ridiculous" regulations most everyone else does? |

Re: NOAA offshore wind report
Now that right there is GREAT! The recreational fishermen has for decades been getting the short end of the stick and very rarely does anyone feel the regulations are fairly arrived at and they'd be right. That being said, making your own rules when most choose to abide by the rules is not the right answer and is only going to hurt the entire sector more than benefit it in the long run.
