![]() Went fishing in 44 degree Carnegie Lake this afternoon after a rain storm and cold front. Air temp was only 37 degrees. The strong north wind made it feel very cold. Saw 3 other fishermen catch crappies while ultralight jigging. I caught and released 2 white perch, 2 black crappies and a largemouth bass with a 1/32 oz twister tail leadhead jig on 2 lb test line and red worms 🪱 on a gold hook and 4 lb test line. The fish stopped biting on worms last week. After I use up my fifth container of worms, I won’t buy more and use ultralight jigs instead. My 1,000th fish for this year was a largemouth bass.

![]() Not very nice...Yeah small fish, but thats not his fault..I give the guy credit.. He;s out fishing and catching a lot of fish, while you I are here reading about it. The lake he fishes seems like a classic case in an insanely heavily populated area like NJ... Good habitat, good variety, good productivity, probably would be a wonderful lake to fish but each and every fish is taken out and consumed the second it reaches legal size,, in the case of the lake in question, lots are taken before legal size.. I for one enjoy reading about it, small fish or not..Wish I could be doing it.... bob

![]() I think the only problem I ever had with his posts, is where he kind of described the area he fishes as "my spot" or something like that.. I can relate, but thats just a part of fishing in a place where lots of others fish.. I understand the consternation believe me, my "spots" get hammered on a regular basis, and I don't like it, but the guys in "my spot" don't like when I show up either.. In any case, I do appreciate anybody that gets out fishing and reports back, especially when no one else is out fishing... bob

![]() grand = 1000; master = top notch angler; dink = size of fish.
Geeez, and I thought that was complementary. |
