Default Dead porpoise

Went to Delaware Bay this afternoon on a cold, sunny day with a small craft advisory west wind and incoming tide. Saw two fishermen, explorers, a dalmation, Canada geese, black ducks, teal, gulls, a snow goose, deer, horseshoe crabs, a dead porpoise and a Tuff buoy from Ohio. Took pics. The dalmation stole my glove, then played take away. Porpoise was partially eaten.

3 dead dolphin/porpoise at Sandy Hook today. Since when do they get hit by ships ? They are already diagnosing it as parasites...they didn’t even look at them yet ! More BS...

Who is diagnosing it as parasites without even looking at the carcasses yet? Please post the report/article. Thanks in advance.

Park rangers and MMSC reps at the scene advised onlookers not to try to push the stricken dolphins out into deeper water, or to get too close to them because they may have been diseased, but no official cause of death has been publicly announced pending results of the necropsies now being done at the New Jersey Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory in Ewing...

Maybe Covid has reached Ocean mammals? Question if whales and dolphins need to wear masks, do they wear them over their mouths or their blow holes?

In years gone by, there have been porpoises stranded at the lower end of the Shrewsberry River, and they died there. Apparently they have a GPS system in their head which tells them to swim south when the water gets too cold for them.
Unfortunately there is no escape to the ocean there, and in order to get to the ocean they would have to swim north and around the hook in order to go south.
Last time this happened, I suggested that the Coast Guard pick them up in a stretcher and air lift them over the beach to the ocean, but that idea was scuttled quickly. After all, I am not a marine biologist, just another concerned citizen that loves dolphins............

They wash up in the way back of the bay every year too. They're just getting reported more now. I've seen them in union Beach, cliffwood Beach and Laurence harbor.

Went snow goose hunting at Delaware Bay this afternoon. Didn’t see any. Saw a beached red sailboat at Fortescue. A male pheasant was on the East Point Road. Two flocks of wild turkeys were alongside the Fortescue Road. Canada geese and bald eagles were everywhere. A cottontail rabbit was near the Moore’s Beach road. The dead dolphin 🐬 that I saw on Moore’s Beach Saturday was still there even though I reported it to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center and American Littoral Society. It will rot away before an environmental group will remove it. Took pics.
