I met Nick and Luke way up in the Adirondacks for a weekend of camping and fishing last weekend. It's been tough for the three of us to all get together this year but the schedules aligned and we made a break for it.

We all showed up Friday night after dark and made our way over to the campsite by headlamp, unpacked everything and setup camp. Had ourselves some burgers, tried for the night bite (didn't happen) and then we packed it in.

Got up early the next morning and did some trolling for salmonoids that didn't end up showing up, but we got a few other nice fish on the troll. Lots of casting, lots of deep jigging, we did it all. Weather Saturday was great, weather Sunday was monsoon conditions but we caught plenty of fish both days. Ate like kings, slept great (except Nick who for some reason slept on the ground...), and had tons of laughs as per usual. It was a much needed trip, can't wait to do it again next year!

I must go again soon. Camping is just so fun, I think i prefer the cold for it.. as long as it's dry!

Cold camping is definitely better than camping in the heat. Was a blast and learned a lot. At least the trolling for pike worked well until I lost that nice one and broke the rod lol!

That ramp is barely a ramp, and to get the trailer in deep enough to put the boat on/take it off you really have to back it out there!

Great report cool mixed bag as well. looks like you guys had a good time, love the first night shot with the moon and the clouds. I am surprised that you did not get any smallmouth at night. did you try topwater like zara spooks and pop-r's?
