![]() Snapping turtles leave a bubble trail just like a carp. Many times I’ve had snappers root their way into my corn chum with the same bubble trail indications as a carp. What a surprise when there was a turtle on the hook and not a carp. I fish in very shallow park ponds with muddy bottoms. I’ve been able to trail some carp, get ahead of their trail and throw out the chum. It works most of the time, but once a snapper is in the chum, forget it.
