5/21 Report….

After being on the sand and in the wash all spring, felt nice to be out on the water again. Flew a solo mission today.

Conditions sucked. No wind, no drift at start of incoming. Striper guys all over the place dragging lures and jigging. Water off color in back got better to the East. Found pockets of fluke in a few different spots but bite was tough. SE came up after noon and pushed boat along a little better but bite didn’t improve.

Managed 3 for the grill with the slots. Biggest was 19 out of the 8 I boated. Pink was the color today, new penny sucked big time. Every flattie that hit the deck was puking up crabs. The 3 I cut had stomachs loaded with crabs as well. Surface temps up 63.

BTW….got an accurate quantum as a gift this winter. Not particularly fond of the reel and the feel of it, BUT the flipping switch was pretty damn cool. Not sure if it’s gonna last but I’ll put it thru it’s paces and see.

I’ve been fishing that reel for several years and it’s held upon fine.
