Prospertown wind tunnel
Grandson and I hit Prospertown again this evening. It was blowing with the temp dropping as the sun started to set. Tried for 15 minutes in Rollercoaster cove to try and dodge the wind. We couldn't fish the point because it was occupied. The coontail moss was thick in the cove so off we went to plan B.
We drove to the straightaway and fished in a fierce cross wind. Chris fished from shore and I waded. I started to pick away at small Crappie while Chris broke his bubble on a rock. He tried the other rod that had the nymph/bubble combination and hooked something on the first cast! The Rainbow jumped three times and took drag. Chris landed his first Trout of the season. A few minutes later I hooked a fish way out that pulled drag and got airborn. After a good tussle I lipped a Bass around 2 pounds. We continued to pick away at the Crappie until the wind died enough to fish the dam. I got a small Crappie right away and landed a Rainbow in the fading light. We ended up catching 22 small Crappie, 2 Trout, and 1 Bass. Black/chartreuse Crappie jig was the ticket again. The olive beadhead caught too. Grilling Trout tomorrow!
